Leagrave Youth Work Action Group (LYWAG)
Leagrave Youth Work Action Group is a registered charity based in North Luton. It aims to encourage the development of young’s people talents; foster an appreciation of creative entertainment; to generate fellowship and altruism; promote interfaith relationships and to build links and work in partnership with other local statutory and voluntary youth organisations
LYWAG award winning leadership prides itself in being truly community led and facilitating the partnership work of numerous faith, youth, schools and arts organisations. LYWAG has a ten year proven track record of working in partnership with the local police, charities and youth organisations.
Our success and achievements in delivering well attended and engaging event for the community has enabled us to play a unique leadership role in uniting local groups.
Our showpiece event is The Luton Youth Festival. The festival aims to not be just a one off event but leave a lasting legacy. The openness of the event to local groups and performers has proved an integral part of the youth music scene. Since 2005 The Youth Festival has been providing a unique platform for the town's young people to share their talent and skills whatever their experience and has become an important platform for emerging talent. The festival takes place in the grounds and buildings of St Luke’s Church, Leagrave.
